The Ragnarov Titan from Sins Of A Solar Empire: Rebellion, ported to FOC.
Ragnarov Titan for Star Wars: Empire At War – Forces Of Corruption
In what could well be my final released piece of work for this wonderful game, I present to you the largest single piece of work I've ever been a part of; The porting of the Ragnarov-class Titan from Sins Of A Solar Empire: Rebellion to Forces Of Corruption.
Background:
I was contacted by Aariq after he saw my port of the TEC Starbase from Rebellion on Filefront, where herequested that I rig this ship up for him for FOC.
What started as simply adding bones, eventually turned into me broadening my skill set more than I have done on any other project.
Linking damage proxies to hardpoints, creating an engine glow and the most complex and time consuming death clone I've ever attempted.......although much of this time was taken up by me fixing some rookie errors I'd made early on in the project.
Through it all, Aariq was there with helpful suggestions, spotting some terrific oversites on my part – 'one-way' hull meshes anyone? - and a seemingly infinite reservoir of patience and understanding as I slaved over this, learning on the fly.
Where Aariq came into his own however was his graphical capabilities; As well as doing wonderful work with changes to texture files and the creation of lights, he would, upon finding an issue give me a well documented screenshot of the problem – as opposed to the vague 'I don't think that's quite right' I've had from some people – along with wonderful Photoshops of the image, showing me what it should look like after I fix it.
After over a year (I first received the request on August 16 last year) – off and on – of trial and error, all the work was finally done; Proxies were in place, death clone was done, I'd rigged up the Ragnarov's strike craft complement and Aariq had done all the XML work and given me the text entries, to which I only made a slight edit.
Various issues on my end resulted in some feet dragging on the release but, now that I've dropped the oppressive weight of SOTV from my mind, I can finally release this as a swan-song of sorts.
In-Game Info:
Buildable by the Consortium at Tech Level 5 in The Maw with a Level 5 Starbase, the Ragnarov is anextraordinarily powerful vessel, well suited to going toe-to-toe with SSDs.
Credits:
Stardock: Original model and textures for the Ragnarov and TEC Fighters & Bombers.
Aariq: Original Idea, Feedback, Creative Direction, Texture work, Lights, XML, Text Strings....basically all the important stuff.
AUS_Doug: Rigging, Animations, Engine Glow.
Usage:
The nature of this project – being a port and all – sort of means it's probably not OK to go placing heavyrestrictions on it's usage.
That being said, it'd be much appreciated if – taking into account that this is kind of 'our baby' – you could drop me a line – see most recent news post for details – and let me know if you're using it in a public mod, just so that we can be kept in the loop about people enjoying the fruits of our labour.
My computer finally died properly last week, necessitating the acquisition of a new one.
I would have liked to build my own but, due to time constraints (I needed it for Uni), I bit the bullet and bought a new Windows 8.1 machine.
I've still go the HDD from my old one - now enclosed in an external USB caddy - so no work has been lost, but I just don't know if I can be bothered installing everything I need to finish off some of my other projects.

I know you haven't worked on this in a while (I think... I'm too lazy to check atm), but I haven't ever ported a ship into a game, would you mind pointing me into the right direction as to where I should actually PUT the ship in the swfoc folder? Or if I should even put it somewhere in swfoc at all? Thanks.
Hi,
I recommend that you check out this tutorial at everythingeaw.com; Everythingeaw.com
That should give you an idea of what needs doing.
So how would I go about making this used by the Rebellion, and only can be built once?
EDIT: Nevermind, forgot to read the article above
