Like all of the offspring of the fallen angels, Purgatori became a creature of pure evil and a corruption of true humanity. She thrust her bloodlust on humanity over 3000 years ago in Egypt, but she desired even more power than that of a vampire. After winning entry into Hell, she learned that the blood of a god in turmoil contains immeasurable power when she dared taste the blood of Lucifer.
Purgatori was banished to Necropolis for this affront, but she eventually made her way back to Hell to attempt to usurp Lady Death's power by drinking her blood. Her plan ultimately failed, and Lady Death cast her through the Nexus of All Things to... Parthoris?
Here's a tribute to Purgatori, the popular CHAOS Comics character, as a full-weapons Heretic II model. Download the archive and unzip it to hereticii\base\players\purgatori, then check out the readme.txt file for more information. Thanks to Tom Colby for his kind permission to convert this model.
>The file 'q2purgatori.txt' is Tom Colby's original notes on the Purgatori

This is a full-weapons model that can be used for Heretic II blade match,
deathmatch, or with mods such as Siege and The Heretic Fortress (THF). It was
converted using GwynFlex B15 by Gwynhala. The crossbow was taken from the
Quake 2 Demoness model (originally from Hexen II).
In this model I used a crossbow instead of the standard bows used by the
Corvus and Kiera models. Four new animations were created for this model.
The new animations replace the getbow, redybow, draw, and shoot animations
with moves that allow purgatori to fire the crossbow from her shoulder,
like a rifle. There are storm and phoenix versions of the crossbow.
GwynFlex B15 has a "new", "better" GLCmd generator that was used on this
model. That's a technical detail but it should reduce the load that the
model places on your 3D accelerator. Purgatori is the first GwynFlex
model to use the new, more efficient GLCmd generator.
To use with standard Heretic II, extract the archive contents to the new
folder "hereticii\base\players\purgatori\", then select the model from the
console using "skin purgatori/female". Note that if you are playing on-line,
the model must also be installed on the server before you can use it. Also,
if you want female sounds for the model you need to copy all of the .WAV
files from the standard female folder "hereticii\base\players\female\" to
"hereticii\base\players\purgatori\".
Suggested THF class: female pyromage. To use the model this way, extract
the archive contents to the folder "hereticii\thf\players\fpyro\"
Bugs:
- There's some distortion around the hips, due to the animation technique
used by GwynFlex.
- The stored bow geometry was left out of this model - when I added it, the
model was too big to be loaded by Heretic II (upper limit seems to be
about 3.5 MB). The bow works fine, there is just no visible indication
when the bow is stored.
