Description
This is all the world textures from the Myth II: Soulblighter game and The Fallen Levels plugin, upscaled using ESRGAN neural network. Textures were upscaled and converted back to paletted 256-colors images using ingame.
Installation
In order for this Upscale Pack to work you need to:
- Install latest unofficial patch for the game from Project Magma
- (Optional) Install Detail Texture Megapack, special set of HD textures for terrain. Terrain textures and ESRGAN Pack do not intersect, they upscale different set of files.
- (Optional) Install higher resolution cinematics for Myth II
- (If you want to play Myth 1 campaign) Install The Fallen Levels v2
- (For Myth 1 campaign) Install higher resolution cinematics for Myth 1
- Unpack content of the ESRGAN Upscale Pack to Myth II game folder
Compatibility
It should be compatible with any mod. I checked with HD mod Myth HD Total Conversion 1.32 and it worked without any problems

Is this compatible with the Myth HD Pack?

As far as I know Myth HD upscales mostly sprites which I didn't touch in this pack.
Also I think you could just install one pack upon another overwriting any differences.

Well, ESRGAN pack is not a pluggable mod, it does not need to be "enabled" in configuration like HD mod. So they easily can work together. As far as I can understand, HD mod will just load it assets upon ESRGAN.
And judging from google (I'm too lazy for now to load a game and check) HD pack contains monster/player sprites upgrades while ESRGAN only upscale world textures. So they are not intersect.
The only collection file it replaces is "FX Volcanic Fireball Contrail", and I didn't upscaled this collection
Well, I checked the game by loading this plugin. And as I said - they are fully compatible.
My mod upscales world textures
HD mod upscales character sprites
Detail Texture Megapack upscales terrain
The only things left unupscaled by this combination are world sprites (trees, bushes, rock sprites etc).
Ok, cool. So it's basically a more complete version of the Iron tagset.
FYI this pack apparently breaks the Gate of Storms singleplayer level. Once the animated cutscene ends, the map tries to load and then crashes back to the main menu.
I remember that there were messages in myth_log.txt with info about the problematic resources, but I don't have access to that right now.
