In the archive along with ARMA2_MQ9 there is uav_pred, which can replace the vanilla version (I have not tested it in the game).

ARMA2_MQ9 was tested on BFHD_Gold2 and there were no errors. Perhaps your BF2 version is not 1.5 and there is not enough icon in the menu. To find out the error, you need to run the game in windowed mode.

dont change the path ,especially uav_pred
same name ,different path ,different types ,this will cause CTD
Thank you DoragonKong for advice and for great model! But if i don't change minimap mini_uav to mini_jet it crashes on loading textures, probably mini_uav icon is missing.
Yes ,it is not a single addon ,it did not work for Original BF2
You have to change the miniMapIcon texture

I had exactly same crash like you, changing minimap icon mini_uav to mini_jet.tga fixed CTD for me and so far is working good.
The absence of some icon is not a reason to tear your hair out. By following the path menu/hud/texture/ingame/vehicles/icons/minimap/ you can see what icons are available and install the appropriate one. Mediafire.com
