This is a fixed version of Ka-50 helicopter for Todesangst 2 mod, with fixes in UV maps and slight mesh edits. I made this project because i love Ka-50, and really enjoyed its implementation in T2DEF, so i thought i can apply some fixes to make it even better. Original goal was to fix horribly deformed UV maps on rotor blades, but it quickly grew beyond its original scope, and i fixed UVs in almost all places, as well as made tail a bit shorter to make it more accurate. I also made a new higher-quality rotor sound, taken from an actual Ka-50, which replaces the older heavily compressed (and incorrect) one. PLEASE NOTE, that this skin *cannot* be used as a replacement for default Apache. It is only intended to be used for Todesangst 2 mod. The correct work in original Half-Life is not guaranteed
NOTES
Here's more detailed list of changes:
- Fixed UV maps on almost all of the model, eliminating the majority of deformations and black seams (most notable on blades, nose/cabin part, and engines)
- Made tail section a bit shorter, to make it more blueprint-accurate (yes, i actually bothered to compare it to blueprints. It's overall pretty accurate, by the way)
- Adjusted the position of hitboxes and horizontal stabilizers to fit shorter tail
- Decreased size of rotor blades, so they won't clip with tail (original mesh was clipping even with longer tail anyway)
- Slightly increased the rotation angle for main cannon, allowing it to fire just slightly to the left and upwards relative to itself
- Made a new higher-quality rotor sound, cut and converted from an actual rotor sound Ka-50 makes
Installation instructions
The archive contains "t2def_addon" folder. Drag-and-drop it to your main "Half-Life" directory, and you're good to go
