I have been playing the Republic At War Mod since 2011. It's by far my favorite mod, but I prefer more of a flashier movie look for my space battles.
This modification is for people like me. I compiled this for my own use, but decided to publish it in case some of you would like it as well.
My role in this modification is miniscule.
I merely compiled files from two different resources into a working entity and altered a few parameters (such as projectile size).
All credit goes to the creators of the mods.
This modification changes the space lasers of RaW. It's purely a cosmetic modification.
It only changes the look of ship laser beams and makes them a little closer to the movie version.
It does not alter ANY stats, it doesn't change ANY other projectiles, and it doesn't touch ANY ground units.

Requirements:
You obviously need the Republic At War mod installed. My addon was created for the current version of RaW (1.2).
It might work on older versions, but it has not been tested.
Installation:
I don't recommend modifying Steam Workshop mods, as I am not sure whether or not Steam checks for file integrity or not and reverts to original versions.
I manually install all my mods (as should you), but it should work with workshop regardless.
Drop the 'Art' and 'XML' folders into the Data folder of your Republic at War's installation.
On steam that would be...somewhere like this X:\YOURSTEAMDIRECTORY\steamapps\workshop\content\32470\1129810972\Data
On retail/GoG it would be somewhere like this X:\Star Wars Empire at War\FoC\Mods\REPUBLICATWAR FOLDER\Data

It's pretty awesome man ! However i noticed you changed the quad lasers, now there're 4 horizontal instead of 4 in square size. Why did you changed it, may i ask ?
I think they look better.
It realistically depends on how the layout of the actual turrets is.
For example the Quad Lasers and Turbolasers of a CIS-Lucrehulk Battleship have the "square-size" layout of the energy bolts shown in the movies themselves.
I don't know about the Quad turrets of the Victory I Star Destroyer because even while it has been re-introduced to the new canon in a novel there is yet to be an actual canon depiction of it with armament.

i have a question. can this be used with other mods besides the republic at war? if so that would be sooooo epic. Mod is all out amazing btw makes the game really "stand out".
It would work, but only partially, and the sizing would be off. You'd have to edit the desired mods' projectiles xml to make it work the way it's supposed to.
This is what i was waiting for. Something so little that makes a biig impact. Great job.

I wish same mod for Battlefront Commander mod
Im workibg on that and also trying to change the unit to shoot their particular laser color. For example, the arquitens class will shoot blue during the republic but will shoot green during the empire.
Hi there, i noticed that the square lasers projectiles for the Republic were more "light blue" than the other ones. Was this intended ?
Yes, this was intended as I don't have the textures for the dark blue version.
