I spoke too soon... I suggest you DO NOT download this mod just yet.

Now I can't even play the game , my main menu screen is stuck although I can hear background noises and music. To make matters worse , I tried to unistall this mod completely by removing the files but it's still the same... HELP!

This has nothing to do with this mod as this mod is just an post-process shader database.
A non working ReShade mod would prevent the game from starting up(crash to desktop) or would show no effects.
To uninstall simply remove the "d3d9.dll" but your problem seems to be another mod.
Try removing the latest changes you did to your game.

I´m sorry for your problems and hope you solve them soon.

Greetings, BurningSky.

Hello,
Sorry if I sounded too harsh but I really want to try out your mod :-)

I deleted all my SWBF2 files to make sure nothing goes wrong this time.
The mod is compatible with Patch 1.3 , eh?

I'll try again once the game is installed again and I'll come back to give you some feedback.

Cheers!

This mod is independend of the game version, it should work for every patch version and furthermore every otther 32bit game not only for SWBF2.

Same problem after removing d3d9.dll ?
After removing this everything should work normally as this is the mod's core.

Whats your PC specs ?
This mod maybe causes problems on very old machines.

I´m currently not at home so I can't test things, sorry.

My game version is 1.3
OS is Win10 insider Build 10162
GPU is r9 290
CPU is i5-4570

Nah , I did manage to remove the changes don't worry about that I'm just wanna try out the mod now.

I download the files extract them in the GameData folder but all I get is a glitch. Should I take a video of what's going on? Could that help in any way?

Thanks!

I don't know for sure but maybe you need a graphics card with shader model 5.0

Try showing me a video from startup to the error.
You can also try to replace the downloaded d3d9.dll with one dll from the official reshade site.
If you downloaded the reshade archive from the site take the "reshade32.dll" and rename it to
"d3d9.dll"

It looks like it is calling it self for several times.
I don't know exactly how to prevent this but maybe it is an anti aliasing bug or something.

Have you disabled ingame AA and ingame Blur before installing ? If not try that.

Otherwise I have to check it when I'm home next week.

I'm very sorry for your problems.

Greetings,
BurningSky

Make sure you disabled ingame AA, this has own anti aliasing and disable ingame bloom.

You can disable certain things in the reshade.fx document.

For example SSAO can consume much power.
DoF also can consume much power.
Additionally you can lower the accuracy of the AA.

I don't know your system but I belive you can tweak the settings to get a good performance, except you have a gt 9600 wood pc xD

What shaders do you use?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
BurningSky Author
BurningSky - - 11 comments

You mean the effects ?

-FXAA
-Lensedirt(since most units wear helmets I thought why not)
-Gaussian Amalflare(cinematic effect - horizontal flares)
-Bloom
-SSAO(Maybe I disable this I haven't noticed much dufference)
-PetkaGtA DoF(some DoF and chromatic aberration, DoF is buggy)
-Sharpening
-Levels(adjusted Black and White starting point)
-DPX(some color changes)
-Vibrance
-Curves(contrast adjustments)
-Sephia
-Filmic Pass(another "cinematic" effect)
-Reinhard Tonemapping(color adjustments)

Okay I made my own graphics mod and now I have to say: Sorry, but it seems like you don't have a clue about Reshade.
Battlefront does not deliver correct depth data to Reshade so:
SSAO is pointless
DOF is pointless, it is like everything is not sharp, you abuse DOF to unsharpen the image, why the hell are you doing that?

At first your GPU isn't a gaming GPU so don't expect too much from it additionally it's a notebook GPU.

Then disable ingame AA as this has it's own AA.

I tried to install it, but maps refuse to load (also, it makes the menu really hard to read)

Not loading maps normally have nothing to do with this mod as this is just post process(Image Effects).

The blurry menu unfortunately is something you have to deal with as the depth buffer won't work for this game. I'm sorry.

You could try deactivating the mod until the maps have loaded.
To turn the mod off and on simply press (Roll).

Maybe you have to click roll multiple times as the button is a bit buggy in this game.

I extracted the files and started the game. It says successfully loaded and I see the loading screen's look change, but then the game keeps loading infinitely :/

The good news is, it can run on my PC. The bad news, whenever i wanna go to main menu, or after finished a campaign mission, i need to alt+tab, and then go back to the game a lot of times.

Made the game look slightly better, and the main menu virtually unreadable.
Don't think it's worth the hassle of having to squint at the main menu.
