As I'm sure most of you know, shortly after my announcements and updates for bringing this mod back to life, Square Enix announced they're properly remaking Final Fantasy VII themselves!
Hooraaaaaay~~~
So at that point, I coincidentally had to focus on some life changes that took me out of development for a while-- I figured, "Well, everyone's going to get the remake we wanted anyway, I don't really have to keep working on this pipe-dream any longer."
Of course, I didn't intend to leave everyone hanging; again, I did have to manage some life changes. So I figure at this point, I'm at a crossroads:
Should I continue development on VII, or work on a smaller-scale project with a more realistic goal and release probability (as a one-man team)?
Let me know, guys... I don't want to waste my time on something that'll be outdone by the real deal with how much work that entails. I've got some fun ideas for smaller projects that are considerably more doable.
As always, thank you for your support.

To be honest since Square has conformed the remake I would scale down but and I mean but all the stuff you have made up to now just change the assets to something more original and or maybe the smaller project could be set the in same game but with original characters, new concepts, etc.
Well, if I was leaving VII behind, I was thinking something completely different, actually...
Different Engine, Genre, Story, Concept, Gameplay, etc.
It's an idea I have been slowly developing for the past 3 or 4 years, conceptually, and I think it could be fun to play and create.
Ah at least you have a backup plan and this is good practice in game design.
I would like to see where this project goes honestly. i would hate to see all the work you did go to nothing.
Ha. What I could do is finish up the Bombing Mission demo to at least get something out there, then maybe move onto my next project. Could be a happy middle ground.
