Urban Warfare has begun business with a bang!
After a very slow start our mod team has finally woken from its month long stupor and we have all begun forming what will hopefully become an amazing mod.
Urban Warfare is a mod where we intend to re-create BF2142 into a present day to near future society where the people have revolted against the police run states. We realize that this mod is quite similar to Counter Strike and the idea is not wholly original, but we are attempting to change it as much as possible whilst keeping with the general plot. We will soon be moving to our Internal Alpha stage.

You could put it that way, we could make the same mod in Bf2, but we've chosen to make it in Bf2142, there are too many Bf2 mods and very few BF2142 mods. A few of the weapons will be the same as Battlefield 2 but other than that everything else will be different, there will also be realism.

here ive got an idea...try something INNOVATIVE for once. you say realism? project realitys done it and they've done it well. Revolt against police run states? its been done! its all been done! no matter what you do in the development of this mod i promise you it will come out being just another generic reskinned version of the original game. I mean for **** sake your mods called Urban Warfare! its already generic by the name. Here ill give you a free idea....Make a mod where its a native american like tribe that uses projectile based weopons like bows and explosive arrows or even catapolts and rides horses of course and then have a force solely made up of 5-10 mechs to fight them. Or heres another one make a jurassic park style coop mod! You could have all the various dinos versus an elite special forces team.I can see it now! an at soldier blowing away a raptor with a javalin!
You guys are obviously willing to put alot of work into this mod and probably already have, and believe me im very thankfull we have modders like you to give us free content. But why limit yourselfs! many game companys put out the same game over and over enhancing it every time but rarely changing the gameplay. they do that becuase taking risks for them could mean the loss of alot of money.You are for the the most part i assume liberated from that risk.So create what hasnt been created a thousand times before. PLEASE!
