This total-conversion mod takes the Battle for Middle-earth II to the Fifth Century BCE, replacing the original content with two new, fully-fledged factions: Sparta and Athens. Completely new content, strategies and more awaits you. This project is brought to you by Kwen, Matias, Lauri, njm1983, Glaeken and Mike who are hosted at the3rdage.net, a division of revora.net.
Since the initial beta will only contain the Spartan faction, we have added several housecolours to make it easier to identify your units.
What does the "Ω" stand for?
It's a Greek letter called omega, I think it's the last letter of the Greek alphabet.
I know. Sorry I didn't say but I'm Greek. It's just Greek hoplons usually carried the first letter of the city-state's name and I can't think of a city that starts with an "Ω". I know that it's just a tiny detail but I had to ask. Not meaning to be critical or anything.
All of the shield designs you'll see in the mod are taken from lists made by historians and chroniclers of shields found at the time. That said, I've no clue where that shield came from, as I didn't find the original source containing it :P
Your shield meshes might need repositioned so they arent right in front of the soldier's face. ;)
I'm not entirely sure of whether or not that that can be edited, as it's part of the model and animations taken from a vanilla unit. Of course I'm neither a modeler nor an animator (nor the great combination of the two) so my opinion very well may be void. Thanks for pointing it out, though!
It can most certainly be edited. Whether we will before the first public release is something I highly doubt.
Actually that's why I'm working on right now :p
There you go :P
Oh, alright then :P
