Mod Features: Resource Management: The resource management in The Great Trench War will be considerably different from the vanilla BFMEII. With the objective of making the process as realistic as possible without disturbing the smooth play of BFME, mines and tree harvesting will be replaced with railroads whereby the player captures railway stations. Trains are then dispatched at regular intervals to supply the goods required for construction and unit training. As a secondary resource, players must capture flags in key strategic locations; this will encourage their commanders to provide more resources. Gameplay: The gameplay in The Great Trench War will be vastly different from BFMEII in a variety of ways. Trench warfare will be simulated, and there is a strong emphasis on realism. Conversely, however, the speed and fun factor of BFMEII will be maintained where possible. One important difference encountered in the mod is the removal of rushing tactics. Hey guess what everyone BF 1918 has merged with TGTW heres the big scoop.

After some days of negotiating, speculating and brainstorming, we are most pleased to announce to you all the merging of The Great Trench War with Battlefield 1918!

Both teams have agreed that all members of TGTW will join the ranks of the BF1918 development team. For them, this means a new major step in the development of their mod for the well known real-time strategy game Command & Conquer: Generals. Because of the help offered to them by BF1918, both in technical and historical terms, new and greater opportunities will present themselves to the team behind TGTW. From now on, the team members of TGTW are all full-grown members of the BF1918 development team.

The merger of both mods throws some new light on the development of both projects. First of all, this merger means a reach out from one game genre to the other. New opportunities will present themselves to both BF1918 and TGTW, and together we can build on a larger community. Both teams will do their very best in order to bring a higher quality into both mods, with an even better eye for historic detail. Eventually, you, the players, will get the chance to play two high quality mods for two well known games from two completely different game genres, real-time strategy and first person shooter. This means more variation, more realism and thus, more fun. Also, those amongst you that are interested in history will still be treated to facts and articles about the first world war, with the same quality as usual.

During the following days, we will work on the complete integration of everything TGTW related into the BF1918 system. A new logo for both teams is already in the works. We hope to get the support of both the BF1918 and TGTW fans for this, and are looking forward to greeting some new fans coming over from the RTS scene.

with our new found ally the mods will be that much easier to
make.
