Was it just me, or did a full half of the punches they threw at eachother never connect? It was like watching two gerbils go at it during some portions :P
LOL, the actual moves do connect but sadly the way MaxPayne 2 works, damage anims aren't played out while the characters are already preforming an animation. Its a flaw with the game itself as it wasn't really designed for this type of collision. When the moves connect, an audio cue is heard indicating so and is only played when the move connects. If you look at one of the very last sections of the video (Akuma vs Evil Ryu) you'll see and hear that the moves do indeed connect and react as they should.
