From Starlance being a Half-Life 2 mod, we've now set our sights at Unreal Tournament 3. The change of engine is mainly due to the huge difficulties with making something like this on the Source Engine. Starlance is a first-person multiplayer mod for Unreal Tournament 3. I think this is the best way i can explain the design ideas, without it getting too long: Big, open terrain environments. Half the time, you're travelling through the air, using a jetpack. Two bases with different stations, defenses and weaknesses. Vehicles, each with different purposes. Concepts like taking cover and being the quickest on the trigger when running into the enemy isn't much a part of it when you're out in the field. Instead, your defense is to be a moving target, jetting while fighting back. The focus on team-play and other key concepts are influenced by the Tribes series of games, but i can't think of any other game that gets close to this. It's designed for more players on...
