Alright ive been messing around with themes of maps and such and ive come up with something thats never been done in fps.
Operation Sealion.An alternate history.
The German invasion of Britain in 1940. My storyline.
Im thinking the date to be pushed to mid 1943 based shortly after 'Red Square Massacre' .The Germans have secured Stalingrad and have formed a solid defensive line just past Moscow as planned,now the time is ripe to strike Britain. After the failure of the Battle of Britain years earlier the Luftwaffe have reformed and have taken control of the skies at last. Now after months of planning the German army have finally organized into a force capable of an amphibious landing of Britain. But the Germans have only a short period to attack as the US navy steams on its way to aid the English.
Map type: Medium/Large,Small Skirmishes,Mixed ai
Player is a German soldier again.
Player starts on the beach,dodging pillbox bullets (D-Day reference)
Player re-unites with comrades as sea-wall. (D-Day reference)
Player fights his way into town and disables pillboxes and other anti-invasion weapons.
Player fights his way through buildings to a castle residing on a hill overlooking the town providing artillery co-ordinates for the British.
Player secures areas around the town. (All ideas subject to change)
Would you guys enjoy a map like this? Would you be offended killing allied soldiers? Will anyone from the community be willing to help and support me? Any ideas welcome,the map will be classic fps again but with considerations in relation to my last map.

The mere idea of making a new SP mission for CoD2 sounds good enough to me. About the mission storyline, personally I would prefer something a bit mor historic, but that's my opinion. Perhaps a good way to make a mission set during a fictional invasion of Great Britain would be to play as a Fallschirmjager in an udercover/sabotage operation. What do you think?

And about "being offended killing allied soldiers"... I am not offended killing German soldiers, so I don't see the difference. In fact, I'm a bit offended when someone thinks that there's a difference between the allies and the Germans. I'm not saying that you are one of those people, of course, but you get the point. Just make what you want and nevermind if someone is offended. It's just a game.

Well, I have quite the same point of view as Vassili. I am also more into a history-based maps.
Plus, such a SP map would take enourmous time to create. You would need lots of custom models (Fallschirmjagers + Kriegsmarine uniforms, German landing vehicles...).
If you want to make some landing map, I would suggest a D-day from German perspective. For example a map based on the (true) story of German machine gunner who fired some 10 000 rounds with his MG-42 before he retreated his position.
That would be great! I'm surprised that there is no movie/videogame about Heinrich Severloh. Perhaps if he had been American...
I strongly agree with Vassili, but my opinion is you should make a mission unlike other CoD style missions, a mission where you play as a regular soldier, someone without any specific importance retreating as the allies close in from the beach.
Yes, I thought of a project about the invasion of Britain too, but unfortunately it ended as a mere idea. I believe it can be amazing, if you ever think about realizing this idea - I offer my services as a 3d modeler, since you would probably be missing a German landing vehicles.
Also - about the proposal of a D-DAY mission from the German perspective - it was done before for COD5 and 1.
