Before there were put off's, working on modern engines allowed for easier processes and virtually no limits to design. Textures were not limited to pallets, models could have poly limits and more. Trespasser in comparison made the whole creation process seem much longer.
Though now since then, I have carried on work. I had trouble with certain things, but have worked out fixes and possibilities on achieving certain things now, all they need is a few tests till they work as they are designed.
I had trouble earlier with trees, but now have actually just put in work, and created my own trees from scratch to suit trespasser, I only took about an hour to make the textures and part model. They obviously do not look as good as they were intended for a modern engine, but in trespasser look great. They do look more real than the retail ones, and do allow me to even distribute them freely along with the mod. Whereas if I use anything from the retail, they are subject to law of distributing something for free when originally they were not. I am though using everything else from the demo level if needed. Boxes, plants and other objects.
So hopefully anyone can play it even if they don't have the retail game. As in the end, hopefully, will be packaged with an edited demo exe and ATX.
Sounds will custom, even intend to replace the dinosaurs with the more familiar sounds. And add some real bass to many of the louder ones.
I have also been working on new weapons, realised a magnet was not attached to the model so caused an issue holding the gun.
I still got a lot of custom models to make though, then a re-construction of the levels for the new level files to hold more textures.
One last note, I've changed the story/plot, and also taken out two level ideas to reflect this change. Al for best.
