ABOUT THE MOD

Will there be a new version?

No.

What mods is JPOG: The Forgotten compatible with?

GEP v2 and PMEP are compatible with The Forgotten. You must install The Forgotten after all other mods for it to function properly!

Can I have the female T. rex replace the male?

Yes. Go to JPOG/Data/Units and find the file Trex.ini. Go to the line 'Model = TrexM' and change it to 'Model = TrexF'.

How do I get Indominus rex, Giganotosaurus and other exercise-exclusive species in the park?

Follow the instructions in this tutorial. Alternatively, you can hatch these species in exercises.

GAME ISSUES

The path doesn't show up!

Open the JPOG setup and (un)check the box 'Highest Quality Z-Buffer'. Start the game.

Visitors see different dinosaurs from what is actually in the enclosure!

This is an unavoidable effect of having 39 or more dinosaur species in the game.

The game crashes when I load a game or start a new one!

Go to the JPOG/Data folder and replace the files SkyNorm.dds, Skytorn.dds, SkyrainL.dds etc (all files with 'Sky' in their name) with your backup versions of the files.

The game crashes before the main menu can load!

Go to the JPOG/Data folder and open up the files DinoList.ini. Count the number of species listed. If there are more than 40 species, remove any one until this limit is met. Open up FslHunt.ini and remove the species from the appropriate digsite as well. For more information, follow this link.

GRAPHICAL ISSUES

My building and trees don't look any different from the original game!

Go to the JPOG folder and open up Setup.exe. Set MODEL QUALITY to HIGH and restart the game. If this solution is ineffective, run the game in administrator mode.

It's sad when people can't search for things on their own. Its just as simple as going to features, tutorials and news on the JPOG:TF main Mod DB page. So sad.

In all fairness, the tutorial was recently uploaded. Doesn't justify the few who still ask 'HOW TO DO THIS?!?!', but hey, at least this FAQ will stop the majority of questions from coming.

Yeah, I used your Dino List tutorial to help first add the Compy and then replace it with the I-rex in my main game several weeks ago. We can only hope the pointless questions finally stop.

This is incompatible with other mods that change dinosaur skins. Reinstall the game and install only this mod.

In my park, when i go on what dinosaurs people have seen, it is saying that they have seen dinos which aren't in the park, what has gone wrong?

How do you install the mod and GEP at the same time?

I've figured out how to install the mod and GEP at the same time.
first ,install Forgotten first. Then after install GEP. Now go to GEP's back up it did and get Eng.txt from the GUI folder and the missions folder's content and move them to the respective places in the main directory directory and overwrite said files when it asks and boom, you're done.

The easiest method is actually to install GEP first, followed by The Forgotten. You keep the gameplay tweaks and behaviours of the GEP and the new dinosaurs of Forgotten.

What's better the Pmep or the GEP mod?
Because I want to have a really good behavioural mod with this forgotten mod.

GEP makes park building challenging while PMEP doesn't alter that aspect of gameplay.

Quite new to all this, is it at all possible to move any of the dinosaurs to different dig sites?

Unfortunately not. It would cause missing texture glitches as well as game crashes under certain conditions. Basically it's a matter of game stability.

I have a problem with WoD EP. When I reach 2 stars visitors stop arriving until there's no one left in the park, then comes only one helicopter and the same. Do you know what is wrong?

I cannot help you on this matter. I was not one of the developers of the mod and don't know what they edited.

I have two situations I need help with.

First, I am experiencing a bug with dig sites. Specifically, whenever I go to unlock the Tendegaru Beds, my game crashes. At first I thought it was something wrong with my dinolist and fslhunt files, but after restoring the back ups I had, the issue still persists. I am also using the DJE and PMEP mods as well if that helps. The order I install the mods is DJE -> PMEP -> The Forgotten.

Secondly, I must be doing something wrong when I try to combine The Forgotten with GEP V2. I install GEP V2 first, as EchoGreen advises to do. However, after I install The Forgotten, I can not start a new island. I experience this issue after installing GEP V2 and The Forgotten into a fresh, clean JPOG install.

Thank you to those who spend their time to help me out.

I have figured out my first situation. Mistyped something. I am still having a problem with the second situation, so I could still use some help.
