My 2nd skin from the new lineup, this time with the Panzer-III Ausf.F and Ausf.J. As usual its in 2048x2048 res, and contains all camo schemes, normal map, and reflective textures as well as tracks.
Works with AS-1, and all older MoW series games (minus vietnam as well, no pz3s used in the cold war that im aware of). As for AS-2, it will work and will replace the skin on the pz3f, but it wont affect the regular pz3j since that one has a new 3D model.
As for the actual skin, Im going to go out and say that this was incredibly painful to make, given how lousy and horrible the 3D model is. At least half the seams had to be matched manually by booting the game up time after time until every edge in the texture followed the 3D model's edges. Anyways, aside from that, and the fact that the pz3's model is arguably worse then the pz4 to work with, i think the end result came out quite decent. Coupled with half arsed normals and reflectives, it actually looks around as good as my previous pz4 skin.
The camouflage is identical to the older pz4 skin (i reused the layers), so it fits well alongside its larger counterpart. As for damage textures, I tried, like with the pz4, to make it so you can spot damaged components when you look closely at the tank, but not to the point where it stands out and screams "charcoal black turret" or anything of the sort like the old models. The fully burned out texture is also more lightly burned and looks like a freshly burned down tank and not something that was pulled up out of a bog after 50 years.
Finally, the track textures are temporary. I wanted something better then the stock texture so i used the same one i had in my older mod, but i dont exactly like them too much so expect an update soon with better tracks and possibly a few touch ups here and there on the tank itself (although i think i did a decent job on the tank at least).
And in case anyone is wondering how to install, open the zip file, and place the first folder you see (should be called something like "HD tanks pz3") into the mods folder located within your game's main directory (create if dont exist).
Changelog:
V2: Fix for black squares on 100% destroyed pz3j model (alpha texture bug).
V2.1: Minor edit to make destroyed pz3f look better (still kinda meh but cant do anything while sticking to stock models).
V2.2: Improved normal maps, desert camo made brighter to fit alongside stock units better, and specular maps slightly modified to make the tank less reflective but make highlights like scratches and edges stand out more.
