Freelancer Black Dawn has come a long way since we first started, we've evolved and changed, from a small rather amateur modification team to a semi-professional group with our works. We have put a lot of hard work into the modification, and are hoping before long that we have an internal mod to play around with and test for balance. The huge systems, massive star ships and stunning visuals are still in the game, and have gotten a lot better since we first started doing them. The Halo array will be included in the mod, with the mod progressing quickly and smoothly we expect a public release with in two months, but nothing is being promised. But keep tuned! As a side note, to play on the server you have to register with an account as either UNSC or with the Holy Covenant.

Personnel of PROJECT: Black Dawn, welcome, one and all! I know that some of you are seasoned UNSC veterans, while others are just getting their feet wet, and still others are somewhere inbetween; no matter how experienced you are, we're glad to have you.

My name is Fleet Admiral Jay Burns, and I will be the voice of High Command; you'll be hearing from me from time to time about important developments and orders that will be issued to the personnel of the United Nations Space Command.

And I come to you today to inform you that you have all been selected to participate in the "Green vs. Gold" War. During the duration of the war, you will be flying simulations and running tests on experimental weapons to keep you sharp and ready for anything that might come your way.

While in the grand scheme of things we are all on the same time, during the War you will treat your former comrades as if they are your very enemy! You will fire, you will maneuver, and you will kill as if this were a real engagement. After enough data has been gathered, a "winner" will be delcared, and you will be put out into the real battlefield, ready to defend Earth and her beautiful Colonies!

Now sign yourselves up for one side or the other, and make us proud, soldiers!

OOC: That's right, ladies and gentlemen, we're just about set to release the Public Alpha known as "Green vs. Gold"! As of this very moment, right now, we only have UNSC weapons and vessels coded, hence the training scenario. however, Greens will still kill Golds with extreme hatred and prejudice, and the Golds will kindly return the favor!

As an advanced warning, the Public Alpha will not have a lot in the way of systems, simply because we wanted a nice playground system where we can test out gameplay and combat. This system will, of course, be revamped and expanded upon as new systems are added into the game.

I will be opening up recruitment for the Green and Gold in a Mod Recruitment Thread soon, where everyone will be divided up. Your commanding officers for this Alpha will be ApocSky in command of Gold, and Dark Angel in command of Green, so listen to their advice, and enjoy!

Another announcement will be made as soon as the Public Alpha is made ready, so keep an eye out. There will be death! There will be carnage! There will be exclamation points!! Let the war begin!!

PS- In order to allow the mod team more time to work on getting this Alpha ready, we're forgoing the Update at Dawn this Wednesday. There will be one NEXT Wednesday, however.
