Foothold in India 1.3 - Now MacOS and Linux compatible
Attack by surprise
As you might have heard, CA came out of nowhere with a surprise patch for ETW and NTW, as suddenly as the Kyrgyz horsemen in Vereschagin's painting.
The patch - quite expectedly since so much time has passed since the last update - ruined quite many things, including compatibility with Proton. Being a Ubuntu user, I'm temporarily forced to migrate to Linux-native version of the game by Feral Interactive.
Contrary to what I was expecting, the migration process appeared to be quick and painless. Therefore, to all Linux users' delight, I'm happy to present you Foothold in India 1.3 - now Linux compatible.
The adaptation
The update itself is not much, apart from Linux integration. Here you can find some minor bugfixes, changes in tgg_campaign_early startpos and one new pack: tgg_unitpack_nerf_galleon, which makes the galleons only recruitable starting from Dockyard and Commercial Port, effectively preventing Spain and pirates to spam them until the necessary facilities are constructed.
The package goes hand-in-hand with Media Add-on 1.2 - now also Linux compatible. Both packages are completely save-game compatible as well.
If you played the previous versions of the mod on MacOS or Linux and experienced issues, it is the best time for you to give it another try.
