It been about 2 days since Shadow posted in download section at FOJ, there been 721 downloads of part 1 of community mod and 21 downloads here at moddb. :) Shadow thinks some of those downloads are a second try so lets call it 521 downloads in 2 days to be conservative on total.
So look like there still players racing Flatout 2, still, after almost a year since release in Europe!
Things have slow down online, but I still can find 6-7 car races online to join. I would like to suggest to all that download the new community mod to host or join a host on Saturdays. ;D

Just an update , the foj community mod carpack 2 beta is now available. Found thru link below:

It is the updates to the mod as well as the 50 carpack 2 cars that fill carspots 91-140. As well , 3 cars replaced in carpack 1, so in turn 53 new cars.
You must know how to extract or drag files out of winrar in order to use it, an installer won't be made for it until the final pack is ready.
So to install, you drag or extract both the .bfs file ant patch file into your game directory. Then at game start up pick a profile from 2-8 and enter the "GIEVEPIX" code in the extra's/codes screen found in the main menu.
