As for as portrait design, No plans to change the male faces.They may not be perfect but at least the soldier seems more authentic to it's country.Instead of having same faces everywhere.
Unique male faces for each nation listed, China, Italy,Japan, Poland and Russia.
The five stars representing the country is just an idea to implement in a portrait, based on the skill level to make it easy to know which unit is low level to high level on the field.
It looks great and will they have voices too?
I don't have any voice actors, so at current time being, no.

Yep, I figure since alot of countries now have exclusion rules lifted.
