Today I am here to announce a remaster and definitive edition of the now classic "Crash Bandicoot Left 4 Dead 2". Many people reported feeling strong emotions when playing through previous releases, and I have been aiming to push the emotional impact of this campaign to the next level.
What does the definitive edition bring?
All environments have been reworked visually, with altered textures, lighting and particle effects. You can also expect a vast amount of new sound effects and music to bring these maps to life.
Crates now feel like what you would expect from the source engine. They have physics!
Puzzles. I love a puzzle. So I have added some simple puzzles to slow things down every now and again. It's 2023, we all need a moments break.
Expanded areas. Most maps now have added areas to explore, look out for hidden objectives and secrets.
Models! Can you believe there were no custom models in the older version of the mod? There are now hundreds of models and hundreds of new textures.
Gore and lore. There's more blood, more grit, more death. I have also included areas with things to read, for people who like reading things.
What still needs to be done?
The 3rd map needs the most work at the moment. I have been focusing on making each level feel a little different to the last. To aid with this, level 3 is becoming a night level, with a storm, new areas of exploration and more unexpected horror elements.
Endings. The final map also needs more work. I have expanded the Big Brother finale considerably, and this really enhances the feelings of doom. You can explore more behind the scenes areas of the studio and it is vastly more detailed. But there is still work to do here.
