This pack contains 70 Civilization II mini mods – scenarios that cover different eras of human history and several useful tools like a mod pack manager, a money cheater and a scenario file editor, among others. I came across them searching an old dvd accompanying a magazine, issued in May of 2003. They come from the very old days by various creators so all credits go to them.

Description

All files include details and rules about them, so it should be easy to add them in your game and play. You can also check the addon section of Civilization II for 10 packs with 288 maps.

This is great. I've been uploading other Civ2 collections lately so it's cool to see others doing the same. Out of curiosity what was the name of the video game Magazine the disc came with?

Something went wrong, i have to add the previous answer again for continuity reasons :). So, it's 288 maps as opposed to the mods-scenarios of this mod pack.

Ah yes I've found it and grabbed a copy of the iso to have a look at everything on there, many thanks! I see you're the uploader of that iso too. Much respect as I am also into preserving local lesser known video game magazines and their extras. I collect and preserve an Australian only 90s video game magazine called MegaZone on archive.org too!

hmm downloaded the iso and I get fail errors in every iso viewer and burning program I open it in. I thought maybe something had gone wrong with the download and my copy was damaged, however when I click 'view contents' on the archiveorg file viewer here, that fails too: Archive.org
Normally the archiveorg file viewer can view inside iso files without any problems, so it looks like your online copy of the iso is damaged too sadly.

Hmm, strange, noone else has informed me of something like that, of course i believe you, i have to check it out. I tested some of the cds and they were fine, i use poweriso. I didn't check that one because it is almost 3 GB! The view contents doesn't work well in this site, as stats, etc. Anyway, i'll let you know. By the way, i will check Megazone, i am into this stuff, thanks.

Ahh thanks for letting me know what you used. I tried PowerISO and it worked! I was able to get into the iso and extract all the files out without any errors. So I guess the iso isn't damaged in a conventional sense.

I noticed you mentioned deleting Quest For Glory 5 (I LOVE that series btw) from the iso so perhaps removing content with PowerISO somehow breaks the iso for everything else. Eg I couldn't view, extract or burn the iso with Nero 9, ImgBurn, Windows built-in iso burner, 7zip (which can load isos), IsoOpener, Oracle VM VirtualBox (which has iso mounting to VMs), archiveorg contents viewer, and good old Daemon Tools.

Up to you mate but if that is the cause of the issue then maybe if you slap a line or disclaimer on any 'modified' iso's you upload saying something like "This iso has been modified to remove copyrighted materials, this may break compatibility with some iso programs, so we recommend PowerISO to open or burn the iso" that should hopefully cover it.

Anyway, thanks again for all your help mate! :) And chuck me a PM here if you ever come across more Civ2 collections! I'm always on the hunt for them! :)

Oh and here's the link to my Aus MegaZone magazine preservation project! :)

To be honest,i don't have the slightest idea why so many iso programs couldn't open a simple iso file, it's a surprise for me. But i didn't do anything to break the iso. I didn't remove anything, i copied what i wanted (everything except QFG5) into a folder and only then i created the image file. I checked everything and they were working fine! All the other cds are full, nothing missing, no copyrights there.

I am glad it worked for you and i thank you for your feedback :) You never know what other files i could find, i'll let you know. Thanks for the link, the magazine seems cool, i have some downloading to do!
