Do you have Steam or Uplay overlay enabled? The game will crash if that's the case.

Thanks so much for this. I had trouble previously but this new version is working. Very grateful. Good job fixing a glaring fault in an otherwise great game.

This mod is essential.

Thanks man, that gradient was ugly as hell. I have no idea what those developers were thinking.

Edit: To those getting crashes, you need to disable Steam's Overlay and Ubisoft's overlay as the modder says above me.

I'm not sure if you can get this working with the standalone version of SweetFX, but you can get it working with ReShade. All you need to do is rename ReShade's d3d9.dll file to dxgi.dll, then install the White Gradient Fix as usual, and the game will load both.

You can still use all the SweetFX shaders within ReShade though, so there's no loss there. To do that, simply allow the ReShade installer to download SweetFX for you, or download it from CeeJayDK's SweetFX GitHub repository and install the shaders manually.

Oh thank you so much for this. The white gradient produced really bad color banding. Ubisoft really screwed this one up.
