As of today, I have completed a simple prototype of my project. This prototype includes running, jumping, falling, shooting, and switching weapons. I have some crudely drawn place holder art and am borrowing the music, for now, from the Netflix original series 'Stranger Things'. 
I have also added a nice raining effect which you can see in the background. I have gotten all of my sound effects from BFXR which is an excellent means for easy 8-bit sound effects. I hope to make a blog post every week keeping up to date on what I have been working on. I know that no one will most likely ever read this and am simply doing it for my own enjoyment.
