I like to think of myself as a reference shot and concept design specialist, but I guess you could also call me a professional fan (insofar as assisting with a single mod can be called "professional"). I help people stay true to their source material in ways they didn't even know they could or should, and occasionally Photoshop a few things.

Well, I think it's time we decided as a community to limit our image posts. We've fallen into a simple logical hole: the fallacy of composition.

When one person stands up at a concert, it makes it easier for him to see; however, when everyone stands up, no one finds seeing easier. Additionally, any people who don't stand up lose all ability to enjoy the show, and the strain of standing is something everyone in the crowd must endure to continue watching.

We can see that a very similar fallacy has befallen our group; when one person floods the site with posts, they are able to bury others' pictures and ensure that theirs get the most views. In order for others to get views, they too must flood the site with images, until the site is filled with frequent floods; people who don't flood are be overlooked and buried, and everyone has to continue flooding if they want their images to be seen.

It might not be relevant, but it's my personal opinion that the act of image flooding is a pretty selfish one; by bombarding the site with pictures and taking up all recent views, the poster is taking any new attention directed at the site for their own and pushing other members' contributions. Add to that the fact that constant image postings cause a devaluation of the "new image" concept, and we find ourselves in a situation which needs change.

Well, to quote Eureka Seven: "Don't beg for things, do it yourself, or else you won't get anything", so it's up to us to make this change if we believe it necessary. I personally believe that making a social agreement to limit picture posts to one a day would be effective without being restrictive; post your thoughts and discuss them here.

As for inappropriate images, it's up to us as a community to police ourselves and flag anything we feel doesn't belong on the site; it's fine if we disagree and wind up mis-flagging a few images, because image flags only take effect when a good deal of people participate (as we remember from maxen's failed attempts to delete some of his initial posts).

Preatty well said, and obviouslly i agree (kinda same of what i've been saying), 1-2 pics per day is more than enough.

Of course, this doesn't need to be a "must" rule, just a guideline. Everyone should be free to upload what they want, but they should also have some consideration on fellow members.

If one day they upload a "few" more, it's fine, just as long it doesn't become a daily routine.

Right. There wouldn't be any actual punishment or consequence, but we as a community would have a clear line for people to cross; if someone uploads two images in one day I don't think anyone would have a problem, but if they upload five or something, we can start telling them to knock it off.

if karuto(the mod) didn't join this... its just waste here...
please message karuto, Techercizer!

my policy would be 2-3pics maximum per day or if you want deviantart group style, per week :D
but even they send one image, but still the image doesn't bring any means to anime-moddb... mostly spam...

i dont like to say this... but they'll still kids! they think this moddb is like anime site or deviant art? spamming useless crap~ arrghh

Then it's up to us to report it! If we flag their images as inappropriate for this group, it'll get removed; if they keep on doing it long after we've made it clear they should stop, they'll get reviewed by the ModDB staff for posting inappropriate content.

Yeah there's way too much haruhi and luckystar and vocaloid in the gallery as well as anime girl minors turning it into a lolifest the site doesn't need.

And men are seen as disgusting. Wow, nice sexism! I'm so convinced to join this diverse group.

I believe i posted earlier in the group, my idea that images should only be posted when referring to an Animé or Animé related theme/game and that fitting information should always be posted alongside.

Right, and if it violates that, we can flag it.
