Eternal Silence is a pretty old game. It's been in development for over 7 years by now. A lot (and I mean a lot) of work has been put in it through the ages. For me that's great to listen to the previous sound-devs work and see what they've come up with, but it's also damn hard to figure out where to place an effort.
No really. What am I supposed to do in ES? In a team like this that's motivated by interest in the game and constant attempts at improvements for the player-base, it's just hard to figure out places to improve. It's not that hard when it comes down to new content - new voice actors, new sounds, new explosions (always liked that one). But sometimes that's not enough, and you need to look at a bigger picture and pick things out that doesn't quite fit anymore.

One thing I've been thinking a lot about is the menu-theme. The previous sound-dev was excellent at creating these big scores with loads of polyphony and epic moments. Personally I love those kind of things, but for the menu I wanted to create something more catchy. Something that started playing the moment the player entered the game and just hanged in the air as a way of representing all that ES stands for. Short, catchy and something that could be listened to again and again.

So now I give you the first take of the results so far. No beta-tester has seen this, and it's only just been processed. I wanted to give you the first raw results of my thoughts. In return I expect some feedback. Hopefully you'll be able to help making it better and more suitable! After all it's you guys that's going to listen to it ;)

Oh and a bonus question: Can you guess what chords the song uses?
