I am a versatile software engineer, currently employed at a company that utilizes gaming technologies for interactive and educational experiences. My main focus is software design and implementation ('programming'). I do however also have hobby-experience doing some Blender 3D modeling/animating and designing levels for various games!

Today I've finished work on and debugging of a 'tile engine' class with a most basic (and essential) functionality. Made in C++ and with a couple of functions from DarkGDK (for loading and displaying the tiles), this is going to serve as a base for my first 'game'. This game is going to be a simple (robot)zombie shooter, mainly so I can learn how game programming works. A friend is going to make the graphics for the game.. which is great, because I totally suck at creating visual stuff.

Now that I've achieved my goal of creating a 'working' tile engine, the next thing I'd like to work on is a level editor, so other people (especially the friend I mentioned, the other part of the 'team') already can try to make levels while I'm going to program the game itself. But damn, learning Windows programming is giving me headaches and i can't seem to find any good tutorials. So if you know a good site/book on Windows programming, please let me know! Either C++ or C# is fine by me, although I'll have to learn C# from scratch.

Anyway, just posting this because I'm pretty happy I finished work on the most basic parts of my engine, in fact, it is my first serious C++ class I've ever finished!

Hehe thank you. I've decided to make a quick level editor prototype with DarkGDK. Not as pretty as a real windows application, but it's (hopefully) going to do the job until I know how to do Windows programming.

Reading this, now that I have a lot more experience with C++ and creating software in general, is so much fun :D How little I knew about software design/engineering etc. Still, I sure did learn a whole lot back then!
