Always wanted to express my opinion on this. Modding to me seems like some game companies worst nightmares. Modders constantly churn out new content for games that a consumer would otherwise have forgotten about long ago. Fallout 3 for example is still being updated with DLC but is that what really keeps people interested? Websites like fallout3nexus and planetfallout provide more FREE content that Bethsda could only dream of making in some cases. Now while DLC has its place and keeps games somewhat fresh, modding will always take the cake in keeping games truely alive.

too true, it is also why the PC is still the most popular platform for DLC. There are so many mods out there and barely 1% are available for Consoles. Mods reawaken forgotten games and thats what Developers can never acheive with their DLC.
