2 days ago, an idea about an mod manifested in my mind. A RTS mod, that is based around world shown in the future campaigns of the game empire earth and it's expansion art of conquest. Some of the factions are from the game and some are my inventions. As for the platform, I first tought of C&C generals: zero hour, but it could be some other game as well. Unfortunately though, I do not own either the skills, or the resources to pull this off. I never tried to model, animate or code and neither do I own any nodelling programs. So this mod idea is destined to never be used, unless some mod team decides to take it.
The background is this:
The year is 2065. Though technology and society have evolved greatly during the century, the human nature has not, for within the century, multiple new empires have risen troughout earth, which are waging destructive wars against each other, as well as rebel organizations. And with NASA launching it's space colonization program, the war was going to expand to the space as well.
The Novayan Russia, formed by a revolution led by Grigor Stoyanovich in 2018, had risen to be a new super power. With the leadership of Grigor, the newly vitalized country had begun an invasion of europe as a first step to world conquest, taking half of the continent, until a new union of countries called "european league" formed from the ruins of european union. With the western european countries at it's head, the league took back all of the former union countries. And so Novayan Russia had only managed to take some former Soviet union countries, including Ukraine, which had supported Grigor in his revolution, but then changed alliances.
In 2064 Grigor Stoyanovich died to an heart attack, which made his cyber bodyguard JK-1 robot (which Grigor had given the name "Grigor II") the new leader of the empire. This served to increase Rebel activity in the country even more. With an typically cold and calculating answer, an robot would come up with, Grigor II began an campaign of purgation to destroy the rebels completely.
Meanwhile in Asia, the republic of China had collapsed, to be replaced by the "United Federation of Asian Countries" (or UFAR for short) led by the Kwan Do family, owner of an electronic company. The new dynasty's birth had also created new foes, as rebel organizations around the country formed to oppose the dynasty. The federation, though in a dangerous situation, managed to prevail, stabilizing most of the mainland, and conquering nearby countries in the process. With it's new southern province, the federation began to collect resources to join the space program.
eventually the required research was made. Then the dynasty encountered new problems. An religious terrorist organization called "the eye of god", who believed that man's place was only on earth, destroyed the first space station in Hainan island at 2055. Not to be deterred by this, the current emperor of the UFAR, Hu Kwan Do Led the reconquest of the island and rebuilt the space station. The first colony ship was sent to Mars. Now the dynasty is gathering more resources to support the colony, keeping a close eye on any possible attampts by foreigners and terrorists to stop this.
In Iran 2020, the national socialist party had taken control of the country. The party had but a one grand goal: the recreation of the Persian empire! The new empire then began an invasion plan, conquering nearly all of the islamic world before 2050. With the rise of technology and quality of life, the empire had become a super power. Now it stands in crossroads with the european league (for the control of Turkey) and with the Novayan Russia (for the control of the Caucasian countries and Kazakhstan). Further advance into east was stopped by the now developed country of India and the UFAR.
Another rising country in the early 21st century had been Brazil. In the 2030's, many of it's neighbours looked upon it with jealousness, and formed an alliance to topple it. However, Brazil with it's own allies, won the war, after 15 years of battles, And the growing super power now controlled the whole of south america. The country's name was changed to "Latin union". For the current decades the union had been suppressing rebel activity, and supporting it's ally, the african union (which had been formed in 2040's by south and middle african countries, to stop the growth of the new persian empire further into africa.)
Having been watching the world from the sidelines, The United states of America saw that it could not oppose the other superpowers anymore on it's own. With this in mind, the president signed an treaty with the leaders of Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Philiphines, Australia and New Zealand to form a new alliance, called "the Pacific Alliance". This way, none of the countries in it could be picked by the other countries without the rest of them coming to rescue.
The world stands now on the brink of an massive war. When Grigor II has pacified the rebels, will he succeed in where his predecessor failed and conquer the world? Or will the new Persian empire do this? Or will the UFAR gain dominance, by being the first to harvest the resources of Mars? And what will the european league, Latin union, and the Pacific alliance have to say about that? It ia time to carve the greatest of all the empires on the world.
