Scarborough holiday 1978 - Midway's 'Boot Hill' game was in one of the amusement arcades - my first taste of electronic gaming - I blew 3 weeks pocket money in an afternoon and have never regretted a penny of it since - from the speccy 48K to my quad core.

Report RSS Green leader origin mission

Posted by on

I've just finished play testing the green leader origin level - it's another tough one so I will tweak an easy mode into these origin levels for the RGB2 mod release. If you like desperate defense missions - this one is for you. You are under constant random directional attack from hostile infantry and armour and there is a bit of a story to follow as well with multiple tasks and a couple of RGB suprises. It is strange how the smaller task driven missions seem the hardest to write and test - there are loads of triggers and events happening and chasing out code gremlins can get frustrating in the small hours of the morning. It all seems worth it though when you get to run thru the final play test and it all pans out. Overall RGB2 is a little behind schedule as is - but should be back on track by the end of Feb. I'm going to relax a bit now with the wide open fields of Kursk - a bigger map and some fancy ai routines will be a nice break from multiple triggers and I've always fancied having a crack at a large tank battle...
