Hi there!
Yesterday I listened to a great lecture about a fail-state in games. This is the situation where a player character loses his life or a fail a level. What the game do about it. How does it make you feel? Does this have to make you feel frustrated and miserable? How to improve this fail-state and make watching the "game over" screen exciting.
A food for thought, definitely.
Cheers,
Gregg
I always think about the Witcher's final screen with the skull and the special doom sound... It always gave me chill down my spine. ;) But I liked it because it made me really affraid of dying.
Witcher was actually one of the discussed examples :)
