I've always had an obsession with AI, especially with my earlier days of playing C&C games.
I was mainly played skirmish and comp stomps. I always loved the idea of seeing a better smarter AI, when I first learned of the tool to mod ra3 I tried making AI but I had no direction and failed horribly.
Thanks to PsionicAnnihilator helping me I spent countless hours of learning everything I could about ra3 AI. And I'm still learning and understanding while I'm making this AI mod, I've learned soo much from all this. I'm only getting better as I go along, and I'm really beginning to see things more clearly, I've become happier as I've continued making this mod.
It's been the first time in years I've lost to brutal AI in a FFA, but today I lost to mine.
It was going great for me and to be honest I was a bit disappointed at first, but then out of nowhere came 6 aircraft carriers, and then my main force was dead multiple times for multiple reasons.
Before my AI upgrades, I could just build a strong well rounded tier 3 army, and then run through each base on the map.
The reason I lost the FFA was because I thought I killed kenji, all that was really left(or so I thought) was the 6 aircraft carriers of warren.
But kenji had a naval yard and rebuilt his mcv, and his base. He then proceeded to rebuild everything, his superweapons and a massive tsunami tank army. I really though I had the match but, it's all the little things really. The protocol targets the AI choose, the harassment attacks. Lose my whole army to a psionic decimator blast, cryogeddon freezing my army when I'm not looking.
I got a lot of the AI done, what's really left is testing and small adjustments.
and I still need to add lissette. but that's it really, after I get all the extra improvements done I'll be adding new personalities too. But that's it, I'm happy to say the mod is looking real nice.
