Hey all DoktorWhiplash or Dave joined by my Cousin Mike (who co-wrote some of this weeks artile_)coming to you from our NEW humble abode in Arizona wishing you all a happy 20 year anniversary for Half-life. Haven't been around for a couple months due to health problems and custody battles but I'm back again ready to review mods again. The greatest game to ever come out in PC gaming. First, doom then Wolfenstyne and then Quake.Quake was good but failed to immerse you into an actual realistic story where you felt your choices mattered. Then half-life came along, and changed the world of PC gaming FOREVER. Although half life 2 is good half life 1 had the far superior modding scene as the engine was easily mendible, but as moddb users we love mods and what better way to celebrate the 20 year anniversary than with my top 16 favorite mods of all-time. Anyways lets get onto the choices. I recently played Half Life echoes on my brother's computer when I came to visit last month in Wisconsin and though it is a fantastic mod I will not be putting it on this list asIt hasn't aged much.Lets get on with the list.
16. Lifes end - Old mod but good
15 Heart of Evil - if Youve ever been in war be warned this mod is not for the faint of Heart (of evil)
14 Afraid of Monsters - scary, made by a teenager. Really goes to show how much can be made from a young person nowadays.
13 Firearms- Another war mod. This time with combat that is more realistic to holding a real gun and being in combat. Great mod for LAN parties
12 Wanted - Yeehaww!! Gidey up partner!!!!! Want to feel like a cowboy
11 Poke646 - futuristic mod great detail
10. Gunman chronicles - Great mod. Can't find a download anywhere but it's good.I played it long time ago.
9. Swiss cheese halloween 2002 - Hilarious mod with lots of silly neat ideas
8. Condition Zero - Amazing High definetion remake of already Classic statis mod half-life Counter Strike.
7. Half Quake - very hard lots of puzzles. One of the few mods where you have to use your mind.
6. Half Life Dreamcast - Love the models!
5. HL Rally - Loved to host LAN parties with people from work and drive around. Tons of fun
4. Action Half Life - the specialists older brother that did it much better.
3. They Hunger - Extremely SCARY mod.. Play at your one risk.
2. Scientist Slaughterhouse - Kill the pesky scientists with gruesome nihilism, I feel so impowered when playing this mod I show this to everyone. They all love it
1. Brutal Half-Life - Fuck yea \M/ Love gore
my 4 honorable mentions: farmers adventures, scientist hunt, science and industry (wish it was Active, used to play a lot), and ps 07
