We are Forged Chaos, a team of twelve miscreants and degenerates wholeheartedly engaged in developing Trials of Ascension: Exile, a "Host Your Own" multi-player fantasy sandbox survival game for the PC where you host your own island, set the rules as you see fit, and play with others (or by yourself if you prefer) as either the civilization-building humans, the deliciously evil looking raknar, or even the mighty dragon!
If you check out our public facing roadmap you'll see we've come a long way and are closing in on a launch. It is no longer a matter of IF we will launch but WHEN and we are wanting to hit that date as soon as possible. With a hammer. In the face. Twice. And that is where you come in.
About the chaos you'd be joining....
In a nutshell, we are all about progress, process, and fun. Let me break those down...
We run two week sprints where you are asked to fill up your to-do list with the amount of work you commit to getting done. You are in control of how much you contribute (sans a small amount of hours per sprint we require to ensure progress continues).
We have this whole "remote team" thing down to a science. We have a fleshed out game design document (GDD) that we refer to daily for guidance, we use Slack for daily discussions, Skype for our weekly all-team voice meetings and Trello to track progress and effort. We are a finely tuned sexah machine!
While we are super serious about the creation of ToA:Exile, we believe in having as much fun as possible. Truth be told, we are a group of politically incorrect scallywags that will laugh too hard at things that ought not to be laughed at. We poke endless fun at one another, give each other virtual wedgies, spread horrible rumors of one another throughout the interwebs and engage in other general debauchery antics. It's a hoot!
So what the hell is in it for you?
Aside from all the laughter at your expense and endless task-mastering, we are offering a generous share of the revenue (that will come from our Steam Early Access launch) that increases with the more time and effort you put into the project. The contract, our projections, specifics of our processes and goals will be discussed with qualified applicants after a NDA is signed.
We are looking for the following positions:
As an animator, you will be subject to endless criticism of your work by those nowhere near qualified to be offering said criticism. They will pretend to know how to do your job better than you and use fancy-pants terms like "I.K." and "Rigging". Beyond that, we're looking for someone that has solid 3D animation skills, can rig and apply skin weighting, and is able to pick up new technical skills and concepts quickly. If you can make a mesh come to life through the awesomeness of animation, reach out to us!
As a programmer, you will be chained to your desk, fed sparingly and only released long enough for the occasional bathroom break but only while your code is compiling. Aside from that we are looking for a coder that has a solid understanding of and experience with Unity, fluent in C#, familiar with Git, and we'd love you long time if you have experience with AI and networking.
