Decided to put this one up early since I didn't do a comic last week. Enjoy!
The cellphone is one of those to nitpick but it's also an ingenious addition to the gameplay. One thing I've always found myself doing in GTA games is eventually getting bored and turning it off. Not be cause the game is bad, no way. No I get lost having fun in that giant world they give you.
Consequently I never get around to going about the main games story. What the cellphone does now is keep you engaged in the games experience. While being a bit annoying it also keeps you playing the game. It offers side quests, minigames, story events, and EVERYTHING else. So you take the bad with the good, my cousin.
Edit 6/16/08 7:28 AM: Reader pointed me over to this GTA4 video on Newgrounds. Hilarious. Though I didn't know you could cheat in the game. I wouldn't want to fuck with my achievements however.
