Just as a note, latin america isn't a colony anymore, only French Guiana and a few overseas territories are still theirs.

Well, it seems I gotta leave Brazil...

After searching a bit, it seems there are still a good amount of overseas territories all over the world, but the majority seems to be islands.

Why do you include Portugal? Do we actively support either side on the Israel wars? (Besides through ONU, Nato and the likes on which Portugal as no actual political or military weight)

We have been invaded by pretty much everyone and had to get deal with them all (Portugal was invaded by Celts which never left, Romans which never officially left, Visigoths which never left, moors which partially remained, Spanish which were forced to leave, French which were also forced to leave, Britains which saw the opportunity to remain after helping with the french but were removed later just to return again especially every summer and that is just the main invasions in History). We had colonies all over the world yet they are independent for over 40 years (except Macau which has been returned to China over a decade ago).

Brazil was actually one of the first portuguese colonies to be made indenpendent and for the most part quite peacefully made indenpendent.
As Portugal always lacked in population over the centuries our domains were left to the locals except for the African territories which were only left after the colonial war (also know as the Ultramarine War as in territories beyond the sea).

Yes, Ultramar is Space Portugal mixed in with Space Rome (though the true Space Rome and Vatican is Terra). I would also fit because, alongside with France from wich we inherited (our first king was the son of a french crusader and a spanish princess) a lot of culture, we used a lot of blue both in flags and uniforms throughout history.

By that logic 90% of today's countries wouldn't exist today, except the few totally ethically homogenous ones like Japan. Russia would practically vanish, China would keep the Eastern provinces only, Europe would be totally balkanized, Africa would be divided between tribes and the Middle East ... would look like Syria/Iraq do today.

Remember, not everyone is so entrenched in politics to where they can make a joke out of it.
