well im guessing its mainly because they stay very far away and not doing anything particularly helpful to support your squad and you happen to be inside enemy territories and wondering " where the f*** are my teammates?" (when the rest of your squad happens to be snipers) but i do have some good recon guys in my squad when i play bc2 =)so i dont have any complains..

Depends. Decent recon players don't even bother with camping with sniper rifles. I use the G3 or VSS and only run off so far as to mark targets and mortar tanks. DICE called the class Recon for a reason.

yep i agree and you sound like one of those good recon players.. thats why i said the guys i have in my squad are good "recon" players.. not snipers
they switch their roles to snipers when its necessary

It is rather doubtful. Pro sniper, who sits kilometers away, controlls >90% of the battlefield and watch >90% of enemies and works for the whole team, marking all possible enemies, eliminating enemy snipers and MG users, and directing mortar strikes. Recon, camping from 50 metres controlls not more than 25% of the battlefield, eliminates rare enemies, has rather limited overview and works more for himself. I'd better take assault or engineer class instead of recon, they have more firepower. This is for assault maps.
As to domination maps, there is no time and place for sniping. That's why recons are much more useful here due to dynamic change of frontline.

Of course it is idiocy when the whole team is sniping, but it is a problem of these gamers, not of the class. I also "like" when on servers with limits of snipers, all snipers either drive tanks, or shooting with MG, or entertaining with UAVs.

Well, when the entire enemy team is sniping, I just gun them down with a UAV. A player too stupid to do anything but snipe is usually too supid to look up. I see what you mean, though.

on second thought yeah good point .. though actually the recon players coming in with me usually has a g3 with them and works as a team rather than for themselves.. they usually stay at a safe but close distance and throws motion sensor to pin point enemy players around the location (in rush mode).. but yeah then there are 'those' recon players who works for themselves.. i guess its just get annoying at times when i have to spawn and they happen to be very far away from the action but hey i suppose thats what they suppose to do.. i said that because a lot of the times i go in (without my friends) the entire squad happens to be snipers =/ and to make it worse most of the players on the opposing team happens to be in the same situation so you basically have a snipefest going instead of having an intense yet fun match >.>

Gah. I've always hated the GOL. There's too little of a bullet drop and there's no mil-dots. I always end up shooting high.
