Stencilsmith condenses the excitement and challenge of survival/crafting games and packages it within a deceptively simple card-based interface. It all starts with earth cards which are the basic resource of the game. Earth cards can be mined for resources with pickaxes. Once you have a resource, such as iron, you can craft tools by combining them with white neutral stencils. Crafted tools are a double-edged sword (sometimes literally) because they not only perform abilities but will also cause you to lose hearts if combined with an enemy. Crafted hoe stencils can replenish hearts when combined with Earth cards and chests can be unlocked with crafted key stencils to reveal an enchanted gems or heart container. Almost every combination awards XP which is tallied toward your next level up!
“I came up with the concept of Stencilsmith very early one morning while my newborn son slept in my arms (because that was the only way he would sleep through the night). I was looking for a survival-adventure game I could play one-handed that could be played start to finish quickly or longer if I had an entire night, which was the case at that time.”
Stencilsmith is available worldwide for iOS devices running iOS 6.0 & later at an introductory price of $0.99 USD after which will be priced at $2.99 USD. Stencilsmith will never have any ads or in-app purchases.
