Rogue Reborn is a modern port of Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear. The primary focus of this project is to incorporate all the elements of the original R6RS while upgrading and providing new features without drastically altering the core game-play.
RR wouldn't be right if it didn't have the RS-style interactions. Here is a demo of that.
They're temporary doors to demonstrate interaction. The "closing sound" is also missing.
The interaction mimics RS exactly. This will allow us to implement any displayable timed event with ease.

Seems like it could get pretty annoying in my opinion. If I were to remake a game, I'd exclude things like this. It's a great concept for, say, defusing a bomb or something technical like that, but for small things like opening/closing a door it seems excessive.

I believe doors were supposed to be annoying. I don't remember anyone really ever opening doors -- They usually were opened with a grenade. It's part of the core gameplay of RS, so it's going to stay.
It also maintains interactions with all things. Such as climbing, opening doors, etc. It doesn't excuse one because it's a bit more annoying then the other. Just consider a tactical aspect of the gameplay.
If it's still not agreeable, then it's good ot mention that the source will be completly available so anyone can branch off and remove/add parts of the gameplay like this with ease.
