I've been working on a few other projects and have some art related things to do as well. I don't have much time to work on this project as much as I'd like.
I've decided to put this project on hold so I can get a few things done. I'm also looking to re-work the game a little with a new help system. I've been thinking about it and most of the times I've watched people play, there's a problem.
They are supposed to figure out which cell to correct, and then which cell to correct the bad cell with. The problem is, if they don't know what the fixed version looks like, how can they know what to fix it to? Secondly, first time players don't know wthe cell combinations, so there's some confusion as to what to do.
I've recently been playing with some special effects flixel has to offer, and I quite liked the wobbly effect. And since the main gameplay is correcting the cells, they should be able to do that as fast as possible.
So the new system is this: the player sees a wobbly cell, but they don't know what to fix it with. They do know HOW to fix it, but they don't know what cominations work to fix what cells. There's still going to be a help system that penalizes the player for looking at it. Cause now it reveals the combinations, and the player will then be able to quickly and easily solve the puzzle.
I don't know when I"ll be iterating this new system. But hopefully sometime this year. When I do start working on this game again I will be posting the updates here.
Thanks again for checking this little project out!
