Why are you guys going yay over something so small... it's really sad, this is hardly anything big, they could be doing so much more than they are. Another reason i'll never actually buy Minecraft, such bad developers.
Oh yes! Now if only the same effect could be applied to grass and other plants, that would look fantastic!
Even if that's a bit intensive, they could just make it an option you could toggle on or off right?
Hahaha. So they're basically adding the 3D items mod into the vanilla game now? Great for people who don't have the mod, but for people like me... I've had this for the last 5 (or about there) months.
It's nice to see Mojang adding mods into the vanilla game, but at the same time, i'd rather have something new and creative or modding API. Instead all I will get is an update with something i already have, which will break all of the mods i have. I will gain nothing but lose my mods for some amount of time (could be a day or 2 weeks depending on how much code is changed)
"Mojang implementing mods into minecraft" has been happening since a long time ago. I think the first major glimpse of it was when they added tall grass which was a long long long time ago. And to be fair, a developer who listens to the community and sees potential in mods for the game is not a bad developer.
And some feedback, I don't really care about the 3D items all that much. I honestly just prefer building but meh, I guess it's nice.
FINALLY.

That's just an opinion.
even if it's a damn stupid one ^^

Them not throwing this in is not going to magically make a modding API.
because expanding the game is obviously bad.
You could always, you know, not update the game until all your mods are up to date.
