Adjusts the GUI so that the minimap and other features appear properly in widescreen resolutions. Version 2 now supports both UI sizes and has additional features.
INSTRUCTIONS
Unzip and/or copy the entire "guis" directory and its contents from one of the Widescreen UI folders in this addon into your Ground Control 2 root directory, e.g. C:\Games\GC2. Use v2 unless you have a non-English language install and would prefer to keep the menus in your own language.
Both the older (v1) and newer (v2) versions of the Widescreen UI are included in this addon, so if you need the older version you don't have to go and download it separately.
If you want to enable the Slim GUI, start the game and from the main menu, go into Options. Then go into the Visual tab and check the Slim GUI box at the bottom of the screen. As of v2 the full size UI is now supported so this is only necessary if you want more room on the screen.
If you are having issues with an earlier version of the game, installing the 1.0.0.8. patch is highly recommended.
Please refer to the readme files within the addon package for more details or instructions if you need them.
FEATURES
- Rescales the minimap window to fit widescreen aspect ratios. This fixes the issue where clicking on the map to move the camera would not move it to the correct location on the vertical axis.
- This also fixes the issue where much of the top and bottom portions of the map have become obscured by the UI frame.
- Corrects scaling and positioning issues with the video messages window and the minimap zoom buttons.
- Enables the unit experience bar in slim mode, matching the functionality of the full size UI, and adds a background panel to make it easier to see.
- Now supports both Slim and Full size UI modes.
- Dropship unit menu now fits 5 unit buttons per row instead of 4. The window size remains the same and the scroll buttons will still appear if you have more units than fit in the screen.
- Added a background under the selected unit's health bar in Slim mode, making it easier to see.
Hi. I`d like to make my own UI /HUD for this game. Where do I start?
Get the GC2 SDK and install it (follow the readme): Moddb.com
Then extract and place JuiceMaker and a copy of the mss32.dll into the data1008 folder.
Now just open up the GUI SDK pdf and start making and modifing UIs and HUDs!
