Curse of the Shapeshifter has a varied world of beauty and danger. In each village, danger lurks as the player explores and conquers the evil. The three villages in the game include your former home town, the besieged elvish village, and the cursed ice village of the Vikings. Banished from your home town by the Captain of the Guard, you find yourself alone tutored by Merlin the wizard. You return to your home town to face your past and see a few friendly faces. You hear rumours of a kidnapped elvish princess in the thieves' maze underneath your town. This leads onwards to save the besieged elvish village and to put an end to G'kar. After a brief detour, you continue on into the mountains where a Viking village is frozen with ice and snow in summer.
