Back in late 2014 my hard drive crashed and I lost the source file. All of my backups I've remembered are either corrupted files on my clouds and my physical backup flash drive is stolen. I lost all of my hopes so I ceased development on this game.
However recently I tried to salvage my old crashed hard drive and out of dumb luck my computer is finally able to read it. I took some time retrieve some of my old important files. So now Cops is under development again. This time I will make multiple backups on multiple flash drives, different sources of cloud like Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, DropBox other than Box.net.
As for right now I have updated the Android and iOS version. Here's what's new:
Overall
- Polished the game physics
- Fixed some bugs noted by some of my players
- Improved level selection screen
- Game Paused screen now has better rendering of paused gameplay
- Cops now have indication when they're about to shoot (easy mode only)
Android:
- Added 4 new levels (Sewer, Stealth Sewer, Dark Sewer and forest)
- Improved controls look and customizable control layout
- Of course support for Android 5.0+
iOS
- Added the missing 5 levels Android has
- Fixed some major bugs on the previous iOS version
- iOS 8.2/9.0/9.1/9.2 support
What's next?
Well I am planning to make more levels of course. However I've been deciding to make survival mode: where there's infinite amount of randomly generated levels and you have a limited amount of lives. And my other plan is to make a level editor, so people can make and share their own levels. (Depends on situations I will make something to the point where everyone can share and make own levels online.)
One more thing:
I have just uploaded a new update for iOS, here's a list of what's included in this upcoming update:
- 4 new level (sewer/forest/etc)
- Game Center achievements and leaderboard support
- Non-stretched graphics on iPhone 4/4S
- iPad support
