The Battlezone virtual reality remake has a new singleplayer campaign trailer that has debuted over on the PlayStation Blog. The trailer purportedly offers an "endlessly replayable" dynamic campaign that changes each time you play.
Jason Kingsley, creative director and co-founder of developer Rebellion, has more:
"The campaign map where you pick missions is structured across a series of interlocking “hexes” that need to be completed to progress to the finale, and it’s up to you to forge a path through the campaign of your own choosing ... However, if you restart the campaign at any time, the hex map is re-generated procedurally, and dozens of environments, levels, and mission types are blended together in a different combination. So each hex is now completely different from what it was before!"
Similar to the roguelike genre, completing playthroughs of Battlezone's campaign will unlock more weapons and special equipment that you can choose to bring into each of those hexes.
Battlezone will be launching first on PlayStation VR, with other VR headsets and platforms to follow afterward.
