Hello BF2 community,
most likely many of you sometimes get a bounce back at the border of the refractor 2 engine.
And for sure, many of you already thought about editing of the exe.
My reseach in the internet, about decompiling BF2 was so fare not useful and the only things that was visible is that a few Pros changed this and that. It appears that the most they did, was "only" HEX coding.
The nature of this article is to gather information and knowlege, if there is any, toghether. It would be great if something usable would result out of this.
My personal interest in this topic are to gain a better HUD, weapon select system and maybe
better sound. Actually, i wanted never touch this issue, because the effort to output ratio might be limited and would come with much of frustration. :)
In search for variables, and without any info from the net, i just pulled the exe into notepad++, and searched the file with the HEX editor pulgin. It is and was quite interesting and somehow fruitful.
But no chances, at least for me, to see through it.
Therefor a propper decompiler would be great. OK, reverse engineering realy sucks too, but it would be nice, if there is a semi easy way to do so.
Questions: Is there a good BF2 decompiler?
Would it be then a python 2.3.4 compatible decompiler, like the following:
Sourceforge.net
Stackoverflow.com
Or a good decompile to assember?
What do you think? Please share your information and experiences with the public.
Would be great, if we would get an expansion of the refractor out of it.
