In the coming months, 001 will be going onto Steam :D . It will be under a different name, and this web-site will transitioned to a new domain and web-site as well. Do not worry. The free version won't get encumbered with more restrictions. It will remain to exist mostly as it is now. The forums will stay intact as well. The games, resources and tutorials sections may go through some serious changes.

The current plan is to maintain subscription despite this. That is, subscribers will continue to get the latest version available through the web-site. On that note, there will be a new beta by the weekend ;) .

Subscriptions will remain superior to the planned Steam version. For example, 3D and HTML5 (feature coming in the next month or so) will likely not make it there for a while.

The software will be published by another company. They are handling making brand new assets and are assisting with cleaning up the software to make it a bit more user-friendly.

As has always been the case, if anyone is interested in developing a game to put on Steam, please subscribe first, and then take advantage of Steam Greenlight. This thread is not a discussion concerning built games going on Steam.

This is an amazing opportunity for 001 to finally be able to grow and be what I wanted it to be years ago. It means we can start seeing more built-in art assets and continued development. This also puts me in a position where I can financially allow Android/iOS self-publishing, something I felt sure wouldn't be possible.
