Unofficial Widescreen patch for Warlords Battlecry 3.
This is the second update to my Warlords Battlecry III widescreen patch. After a bit of a break, I've hopped back in and fixed and enhanced quite a few things.

Important Notice
This was developed from the last official patch. As such no features/changes of the unoffical patches are included. You should apply this patch on top of a fresh GOG or Steam install!
Also due to some rendering changes this may not work on older previously supported systems. This has only been tested with Windows 10.
Third party/Open source licenses can be found in osslicenses.txt under the installation folder.
New Features / Changes
- Enhancements to the game's rendering code.
- You can now use things like Steam overlay with the game.
- A framerate limiter has been added. This can be adjusted to any number in Options.json.
- Improved rendering pacing. Less stutterin', more slaughterin'!
- Enhancements to windowed mode.
- The game now uses JSON files for settings instead of registry. (These files are located under Documents/Warlords Battlecry III/Settings.)
- Added new launch parameter EDITOR. (Allows you to directly launch your game to the editor.)
- Added "Test Scenario" functionality. Allows you to test maps more quickly and directly from the editor!
- Added a neat border to menus.
- The editor now has a filler image between its control panel.
- Small adjustments to multiplayer selection screen.
- Added more animal variety to the Mutate spell.
- Adjusted time for Retinue popup to appear.
- Included the lost Battle Report maps. (Eldritch Tower, Gold of Khax Barak, The Dark Path, and the Jawbone of Sartek.)
- Added an option to disable/enable edge scrolling.
Bug Fixes (Bugs From 1.04 Widescreen)
- Fixed editor grid incorrectly displaying.
- Fixed video playback, including subtitles.
- Fixed various random black screens on menus.
- Fixed campaign's world map.
- Fixed various tooltips.
- Fixed various edge scrolling bugs.
Bug Fixes (Bugs From 1.03 Official)
- Fixed editor becoming incredibly slow if you resigned from a match earlier.
- Fixed environmental sounds not playing at the start of a match.
- Fixed advanced option restrictions not actually restricting production (e.g. No Dragons mode not actually restricting dragon production.)
- Fixed a crash relating to StratMap (Minimap) at the end of a game.
- Fixed extra large grasslands random map's lower half being very empty.
- Fixed the hero ability Reave. It now has the intended effect of extra damage against large targets.
- Fixed Daemon heroes being associated as Good. They are now Evil.
- Fixed Barbarian heroes being associated as Good. They are now Neutral.
- Fixed Arcane Rune not affecting the Spider Priestess.
Known Issues
- Fullscreen mode is actually just borderless windowed mode.
- You must save before you "Test Scenario" in Editor.
- The "Test Scenario" feature uses the current map settings and passive AI. Please adjust these to your liking and save before you test it out.
- Rain speed is tied to framerate.
- Slow performance can occur on higher resolutions.

visual C++ redistributable is installed on my windows.
but it seems to be repeated in several places. One in the steam folder. One in firefox folder. one in system32. two in AppData by OneDrive.
Do you possibly know how do I resolve this?
(original not patched version works when running not from steam)
Apologies! While you do have Visual C++ Redist installed, do you have 2010 installed? Microsoft.com
It appears that dll isn't included in newer Redist (2017+).

I don't think so..Back in the day this was originally based off the unofficial patch code, however (at least the copy I had) was too unstable. Sorry! Hope you'll enjoy the game either way!

It can't be applied to WBC2 because it has a different engine and its source code hasn't been released.

Id be interested in seeing a mini-fix to Vampirism as that doesn't work as far as i can see. Are you working on anything else relating to WBC?? :D

Hi. First of all, thank you for all this hard work. I've got a new laptop with Ryzen 5 2500U and updated recently to Win 10 1903, GOG raw version (no unofficial mods) and was having really annoying problems each time I entered a mission. Anyway, I don't have any of those now, thanks to you.
Literaly, have installed the patch like 15 mins ago. But, my impulsive me tried to disable windowed mode and screen got twisted, got rid of settings folder and back to normal.
Another thing is that the game closes itself when 100% loading a saved game.
I comment this just to report it and gave the data I considered it may be helpful if any other has the same issues. Not with the intention to bother at all. But sincerely, words are not enough for me to thank you for this patch.
This is amazing. Makes the buggy vanilla mess much more playable. Thank you for this.
Got one problem though. My mouse escapes the game screen to my other monitors and it makes looking around fairly annoying. This isn't how borderless windowed mode acts on other games for me. I've tried to find a solution for this to no avail.
Is there anything that could be done about this?
You may have to temporarily disable your other monitors.
This didn't work for me, the window size increased but the actual game was still the default resolution and the rest just filled in black. Any solutions?

Hi, I have same problem with him. Changing the resolution only increase/decrease window size with no regards to the game content.
When I opened in 1920x1080, it the screen become zoomed in and I can't access anything below the map.

Same issue for me though. Just a square of the actual game in the middle of the screen and a big black border surrounding it. All resolution selections just change the size of that border. No difference if in Windowed or not.
i too have this problem, no matter the resolution i choose, the game is in 800x600 with the rest just filled up with blackness.

The Protectors used to have the same problem since it uses the same code (this was fixed in 0.8.9a I think). There's a specific resolution which doesn't work and makes the screen warp like that. The only way around it at the moment would be to use a different resolution, if possible.

I have a problem. Resoultion works perfect but after install my heroes are boosted. They have every stats +2000
For example Minotaur lv 1 Attack 50+2251 and theyre ultra slow. Someone know how to fix it?
