Description

Caster of Magic Warlord mod adds a lot to the game. A downside is that some of their additions cause computer to perform extra calculations, slowing down end turn waiting times considerably, particularly in larger games. Warlord Lite preserves the vast majority of the additions from Warlord mod. It however strategically removes or adjust a few of these with end turn wait time as a top priority, reducing end turn wait times by 60%-85% depending on game size. The game also aims to reduce overall unit spam. The game stays reasonably balanced and coherent despite the alterations on Version 1.0.0 and will be polished since then. The Launcher shortcut/link is bugged: selecting Warlord Lite sends you to the "buy" page on Slitherine's website instead of launching the game.

You have Caster of Magic for Windows bought and installed right? Did you click the image that has ‘warlord lite’ (might show up top left out of the 4)

I've seen this before with full warlord (several months ago), I'm not sure how I corrected it (I think via the multi executable file) but I seemed to be an anomaly with no other reports.

If all else fails, Running Caster exe file in the game folder "Master of Magic Caster Windows Warlord Lite" solved it temporarily for me when I had that experience , bypassing launcher

Yeah, bought/installed from Steam. I installed it again with the 1.02 file and it worked. I think I extracted Launcher and Multi files into the main MoM folder instead of into WL Lite and that's why it happened.

BTW I tried to improve the description text of some of the races for my own enjoyment along with some other stuff like changing certain hero portraits. I can share some of those if you'd like...

As some examples (I took the "fluff" parts of the text from the MoM wiki/fandom page which I really enjoyed reading and trimmed them to fit the screen - no idea where those guys got them from); I think this reads better than:

DARK ELF
At some point in elven history, a gifted faction penetrated Myrror and began colonization, then either fell under the world's corrupting influence or embraced it willingly. The Dark Elven version of the elven ethos of personal excellence places the monomaniacal pursuit of greater magical power above all else.

(also mentioned that they get Scouting now under the main part of the text)

-than this:

DARK ELF
Dark Elves were the result of manipulation by a powerful wizard on Elven population in ancient past. Dark Elves are not only generally powerful magically as result of aged old manipulation, but also as haughty as their Arcanian counterpart.

Also this:

HIGH ELF
High Elves are an ancient race of tall, blonde and long-lived humanoids. A hint of magic surrounds them at all times, guiding their weapons and making them more in-tune with the natural world. Lovers of nature to the point that their cities can barely be told apart from a forest, High Elves align themselves with conservationism over reckless progress.

-instead of this:

HIGH ELF
High Elves are races of long-life forest dwelling people who excel in both archery and magic. High Elves claim to be the first civilized race on Arcanus and tend to look down on races which haven't reached their level of magical advancement.

(at least "long-life" should be "long-lived" here)

Since you've changed the race of some of the Heroes, you should also change their portraits in accordance with their new race. The Ranger and the Druid which have the portraits of two bearded dudes really look jarring now that they've become "High Elven". I changed their portraits to Ivor and Aeris from HoMM 3 (tried the Elven Ranger portrait from Warcraft 2 at first because I think WC2 unit portraits had a very similar pixel art style to MoM but the end result wasn't very satisfying - the Paladin from WC2 was an excellent replacement for the new Inquisitor hero though!)

I'm also a bit miffed now that I've found out that you've made the Discipline spell combat-only, did it really slow down the game too much? That was a really cool CoM addition!

I have already create two new portraits for Ranger and Druid hero as elf. They will included into mod in next version.
